Earlier this month, we partnered with UnitedHealthcare to help provide a hunger free summer for those in need. Employee volunteers joined us at OneGenAway in Franklin for a Mobile Pantry. Mobile Pantries serve nearly 15,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to individuals and families in need during one-day food distributions, similar to a farmers’ market. Together, we provided approximately 250 families in rural communities with one to two weeks of groceries.
UnitedHealthcare has been a dedicated supporter in the fight against hunger. Since 2012, UnitedHealthcare has donated $375,000 to Second Harvest, providing nearly 3 million pounds of food to more than 33,000 struggling households in our community.
