Be a Part of the Solution to End Hunger

September is Hunger Action Month, when the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks unites to urge individuals to take action in their communities. The goal of Hunger Action Month is to mobilize the public to take action in the fight against hunger. It is our opportunity to create a movement throughout September that has a real and lasting impact on our mission to help create a hunger free Tennessee.

Hunger is closer than you think and affects communities all across our country - rural, urban, and suburban. Right here in Middle Tennessee, 1 in 6 adults and 1 in 4 children don't know where their next meal will come from. As individuals, charities, businesses and government, we all have a role to play in getting food to those in need.

This September, we are asking you to take simple actions.

  • JOIN OUR TEAM: Become a Second Harvest Volunteer and be a part of the solution to end hunger. Grab your friends, family and colleagues and register for a volunteer shift during Hunger Action Month! Or join virtually by support The Tennessean Virtual Food Drive. It is now easier than ever to give hope to those struggling with hunger!

However you choose to participate, share with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee on Facebook or Twitter @2HarvestMidTN and stay up to date on all of the latest news on hunger in our community and how you can help! Share this page with your family and friends to spread the word.

Every action you take can bring hope. Every dollar you give can provide 4 meals. Make a donation today.

Thank you to our generous sponsors for their support of Hunger Action Month.
