Second Harvest has more than 490 Partner Agencies located throughout our 46-county service area in Middle and West Tennessee.
Partner Agencies receive food and other grocery products directly from Second Harvest for distribution in their communities. A Partner Agency is a nonprofit agency that has completed the application process and met specific requirements in order to receive products from and partner with Second Harvest. Partner Agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, childcare facilities, senior centers, group homes and youth enrichment programs.
Partner Agencies may order food through eHarvest, our online ordering system, and receive it through one of our many Rural Route delivery options or pick it up at the Second Harvest Distribution Center in Nashville. Partner Agencies may also receive food by visiting our Open Shopping department at the Second Harvest Distribution Center or by attending a Perishable Route, which distributes free perishable items.
Becoming a Partner Agency of Second Harvest saves organizations valuable money and time, which allows them to apply those scarce resources to serving their clients. Agencies are able to acquire nutritious food and first-quality items for their clients at a fraction of what they would typically sell for.
Participation as a Partner Agency is limited to 501c3, tax-exempt organizations that are incorporated for the primary purpose of serving the ill, needy or children. Clients of Partner Agencies must be able to receive food from the organization without paying a fee, performing a service or attending a religious service/lecture.
In order to become a Partner Agency of Second Harvest, the agency must meet specific requirements and complete our application form. After receiving the completed application and other required documentation, Second Harvest will conduct a short site visit at your location to monitor where food will be stored and distributed and to ensure food safety. You will also be asked to attend an Agency Orientation that will include food safety information, as well as instructions on ordering food online via our eHarvest website and receiving food for your agency. Orientation is held the second Monday of each month from 10:00am – 12:00noon at the Second Harvest Food Bank.
