The Starfish Throwers is a poignant documentary following three of the world’s most fiercely compassionate individuals while they fight hunger and struggle to restore hope to the hopeless. It is the winner of the Nashville Public Television Human Spirit Award Southeast US. The film will be screened as part of the Nashville Film Festival on Saturday, April 19 at 1:15 pm and Director Jesse Roesler will be in attendance for a discussion afterwards.
Inspired by the stories told in The Starfish Throwers, we will host a food drive that day from 10 am-3 pm at the Mall of Green Hills. Bring in a canned item or donation in exchange for a voucher to see any film at the 2014 Nashville Film Festival (one voucher per person).
Our most needed items include: peanut butter, canned fruit or vegetables, canned chicken or tuna, canned or dry beans, boxed or bagged rice, mac & cheese and cereal.
