Country music fan favorites Jake Owen and Florida Georgia Line have officially joined the line-up of performers for the 8th Annual Stars For Second Harvest benefit on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Jake Owen has had two multi-week back to back No. 1 singles from his album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, which debuted at the top of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Florida Georgia Line duo—Monroe, Georgia’s Tyler Hubbard and Ormond Beach, Florida’s Brian Kelley have turned their highly engaging brand of showmanship into opening slots for artists like Jake Owen, Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford, and into a coveted spot on the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour.
“Anytime we can give back and help feed the hungry in our community we jump at the opportunity” says Kelley, “We are so excited to be part of Craig’s Stars For Second Harvest Show. Hopefully we can all come together and raise a lot of money!”
Songwriters Dallas Davidson (“I Don’t Want This Night To End,” We Owned The Night,” Just A Kiss”) and Rodney Clawson (“Drink On It,” “Drunk On You,” “Amarillo Sky”) will join Craig Wiseman, the evening’s host, on stage for the songwriter round.Presented by The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and sponsored by O’Charley’s, this not-to-be missed evening helps to raise awareness of hunger issues in Tennessee. In the last seven years, this event has raised $446,032 to feed the hungry in Middle Tennessee. Because each dollar provides four meals, the funds raised from the concert provided Second Harvest with the funds to supply 1,784,128 meals.
This is the 8th year for Craig Wiseman to host the show and the first year to host the event during CMA Fest. “Tens of thousands of country music fans will be here that week and will absolutely love being let in on our private party that benefits one of the best charities in the country. We are excited to have Jake Owen and Florida Georgia Line join our show to play their songs and tell their stories. Our move to CMA Fest week, when all of the stars are in town, promises to be the biggest and most star studded show we have ever done! We expect to sell out as word gets out to all of those country music fans looking for a way to kick off their first night in town with one of the coolest guitar pulls ever!” says Wiseman.
