Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is proud to support local agriculture. We are dedicated to sourcing local produce and increasing access to nutritious food being grown right here in Middle & West Tennessee. The Farm to Families program supplies healthy and nutritious food to communities that need it the most while supporting the work of local farmers and ensuring that less food goes to waste. Last year, we sourced more than 1.5 million lbs. of food from farms within 800 miles of Nashville.
Our Farm to Families program also works with eight partner farms to provide volunteer opportunities. Volunteers will help care for and harvest many different crops to be donated to Second Harvest and local partner agencies to help feed those in need.
If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up for the date and time that you are available. Because availability for crops may change, we will notify you closer to the date which location will need assistance.
