It's time for the Davidson County Library System Food For Fines campaign!
Once a year, the Nashville Public Library teams up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to fight hunger and eliminate overdue library fines. During the campaign, Jan 7 - 20, 2013, library patrons can bring food donations into their library. For each item donated, $1 worth of fines will be taken off the individual’s total library fine. This is a great opportunity to start the New Year off right with a clean slate at the library and a donation to feed hungry children, families and seniors.
Food For Fines brings in approximately 40,000 pounds of food each year which makes a significant impact on the people we serve in Davidson County. Join the fight and provide much needed food to those in need in your community. Most needed items include peanut butter, canned chicken or tuna, canned fruit and vegetables, canned soups, cereal and pasta.
