Become a Cause Marketing Partner

Cause marketing is a mutually beneficial partnership between a for-profit and a nonprofit, like Second Harvest. Cause marketing is a great way for your business to increase sales, visibility and customer loyalty while raising awareness of hunger in our community.

The 2015 Cone Communication/Echo Global CSR Study found  that global consumers feel a personal accountability to address social and environmental issues and look to companies as partners in progress:

    • 91% of global consumers expect companies to do more than make a profit, but also operate responsibly to address social and environmental issue
    • 84% say they seek out responsible products whenever possible
    • 90% would boycott a company if they learned of irresponsible or deceptive business practices

An example of a Cause Marketing Campaign is Kroger’s annual campaign Bringing Hope to the Table, which raised over $70,000 for Second Harvest in 2013.

To get the conversation started, please complete our Cause Marketing Application and a Second Harvest representative will contact you within two business days.

Approval Process

  • Business submits Cause Marketing Application
  • Second Harvest reviews application
  • Second Harvest contacts business to confirm details
  • Upon approval, Second Harvest generates agreement
  • Business returns a signed copy of cause marketing agreement
  • Business submits promotional material to Second Harvest for copy review and approval
  • Second Harvest issues written approval to proceed with campaign elements


Please note:  a signed Cause Marketing Agreement must be on file and you must have written approval to use Second Harvest’s name, logo, tagline and/or program logos (“Marks”).
