‘Project Runway’ Designer Johnathan Kayne Hopes Tweets will Fight Hunger
'Project Runway All Stars' designer Johnathan Kayne is teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tenneesse to give hope
through tweets!
Kayne, a Nashville native, is reuniting with the 'Project Runway' series (he competed in season 3) to head off with other All Star veteran designers. Competing under the name of Kayne Gillaspie, Kayne is eligible to win a $10,000 prize awarded to the fan favorite--the designer with the most votes on Twitter. If Kayne wins by amassing enough #TeamKayne tweets, he pledges to donate the full cash prize to Second Harvest.
The mission of Second Harvest hits close to home for Kayne, who has worked to fill food banks since he was a student at Beech Senior High School.
There were times in my childhood where I remember my single mother struggling to make ends meet and keeping food on the table. I began volunteering with the Second Harvest Food Bank in high school by heading up our record breaking food drive...I feel no child should go to bed hungry and that is why I am so proud to be a volunteer and spokesperson for Food Banks across the country.
While living in Oklahoma City, Kayne became a Celebrity Spokesperson for The Regional Food Bank and now, back in his hometown, is excited at the opportunity to support Second Harvest again.
Kayne's pledge of $10,000 as the winner of the fan favorite award will provide 40,000 meals to those who are hungry in Middle Tennessee.
