September is Hunger Action Month - a month long campaign urging the public to take action in the fight against hunger. Hunger is closer than you think. In Tennessee, 1 in 6 adults and 1 in 4 children are at risk of hunger and they often struggle in silence. It's time to Speak Out Against Hunger!

Every Friday in September, Second Harvest is offering a unique volunteer experience including a morning volunteer shift followed by a free lunch from our First Harvest Cafe. Volunteers will have the chance to learn more about hunger in our community and will leave with a Hunger Action Month t-shirt. There are only 50 spots available each Volunteer Friday, so register today!

And be sure to check out our interactive "30 Ways in 30 Days" calendar for more opportunities to get involved during Hunger Action Month!

Volunteer Fridays are sponsored by Walmart.
