Visit Your Local Kroger to Help Fight Hunger!

September is Hunger Action Month when food banks across the country unite to raise awareness of the issue of hunger and inspire their communities to take action.

There are many actions you can take to join the movement. You can Go Orange at home, at work, or with friends, attend one of our Hunger Action Month events, or post a plate with your hunger message.

Our friends at Kroger are making it even easier to help fight hunger here in Middle Tennessee! Show your support and try one of these three ways:

1. Great American Milk Drive: From now until September 23, you can make a difference in the lives of local families who are going without milk. During checkout at your local Kroger store, you will have the opportunity to add on $1, $3, or $5 to your bill. This money will go directly to providing milk to families in need.

2. Kroger Community Rewards®Sign up for the Kroger Community Rewards® program and select Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee as your organization of choice, and Kroger will make a donation each time you shop at Kroger and swipe your Plus Card!

3. Food Drive: You can participate in their food drive by dropping non-perishable food items in the Second Harvest donation barrels by the entrance of your local Kroger.

We’re grateful to have our partner Kroger sponsor Hunger Action Month to help us increase the impact we have on hunger. We hope you will take advantage of these special opportunities to make a difference for those who are struggling with hunger!
