It’s a cool December morning, and Nissan is out at one of our Partner Agencies, Loving Care Ministries, hosting a Mobile Pantry for hungry families in our area. As Nissan employees pack boxes of food, a line of cars patiently wait to receive much-needed groceries to get through the holidays.
“Many people don’t realize that in Middle Tennessee, one in seven people are hungry every day. One in five children don’t have enough food to eat,” Vicki Smith, Nissan’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, said.
For over 10 years, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee has been lucky to partner with Nissan in the fight against hunger. At this particular Mobile Pantry, 243 households and nearly 900 individuals went home with food for the coming winter weeks.
