As we celebrate Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee’s 46th anniversary, it is important to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact of our community partners, especially Nissan. For the past 32 years, Nissan has been a driving force behind our efforts to combat hunger across the region. This longstanding partnership has helped Second Harvest distribute over 8.8 million meals to families in need and create meaningful change in the fight against food insecurity. 

A Legacy of Giving 

Since the beginning of our partnership, Nissan’s generosity has extended far beyond financial support. From donating 7,298 pounds of food to dedicating over 4,432 volunteer hours, their commitment to our mission is truly remarkable. Nissan has played a key role in expanding critical programs like our Mobile Pantries and BackPack Program, ensuring that all communities receive the help they need. 

Through Nissan’s support, we’ve been able to distribute more than 400,000 pounds of food to 16,000 individuals through Mobile Pantries, bringing essential nutrition to families across Middle Tennessee. They have also helped provide BackPacks filled with nutritious food to over 900 children, ensuring students can focus on their education rather than worrying about their next meal.

As we look back on 46 years of service, we are especially grateful for Nissan’s unwavering partnership. Their dedication to hunger relief has made a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of individuals and families in our community. Nissan’s leadership continues to inspire others to join the fight against hunger, and their support has enabled Second Harvest to reach more people than ever before.
