Can Hunger Affect Health?

Did you know hunger affects health?

Volunteers from Lifepoint Health and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee pack food boxes, highlighting how hunger affects health and the importance of nutritious meals for communities in need.

That is why Second Harvest and Lifepoint Health are announcing Nutrition Month. This March, learn how food insecurity causes serious health issues.

Families facing hunger often rely on low-cost and low-nutrition meals. Over time, this can lead to problems. Without healthy food, our neighbors face a higher risk of chronic health problems.

Illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, and even cancer.

People can even find themselves caught in a cycle of poor health and financial strain. A cycle that feels impossible to break.

Lifepoint is helping us shine a light on this critical issue. Access to nutritious food and proper education helps prevent chronic diseases.

Second Harvest is providing those resources. Good health starts with good food.

By working with Lifepoint Health we can build a healthier future for our neighbors.
