Can Philanthropy Open Doors to a Better Community?

Philanthropy keeps Second Harvest moving.

Renee Gill, Director of Philanthropy and Outstanding Fundraising Professional, connects donors' passions to Second Harvest’s mission to fight hunger.

Today is National Philanthropy Day. On this day, let’s recognize the great work of people in the philanthropy community.

Reneé Gill, Director of Philanthropy at Second Harvest, is a perfect example.

Reneé loves helping donors connect their passions to Second Harvest’s mission. This passion led to funding that played a key role in helping Second Harvest open two new facilities. Reneé says, “The most rewarding part of working in philanthropy is witnessing the real impact of our efforts.”

For her work, Reneé received the Outstanding Fundraising Professional award. This is an outstanding accomplishment.

Her work centers on the idea that generous giving plays a key role in empowering the community to thrive. She says, “It motivates me to keep innovating in ways to engage donors and strengthen partnerships so that, together, we can meet the unique challenges Second Harvest faces.”

As we celebrate, Reneé urges everyone to find their way to give. “Every act of generosity has a ripple effect,” she says. Every day, Reneé sees that.

Philanthropy is about loving your neighbor. Reneé reflects, “This special day reminds me that everyone show love to their neighbor.”
