Tennessee SNAP (Food Stamps)

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), previously known as Food Stamps, is the nation’s first line of defense against hunger. This federal program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), helps Americans with low incomes put food on the table and stretch their budgets by providing benefits to buy groceries. In the state of Tennessee, The Department of Human Services (DHS) oversees and manages the SNAP program.
