Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) for Seniors

Everyone deserves to be able to access nutritious food. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides monthly boxes to seniors aged 60+ living in Davidson County with incomes lower than 130% of the federal poverty level. Second Harvest manages this USDA-funded program on behalf of the Tennessee Department of Health. Davidson County residents can enroll and learn more about specific pickup locations by contacting Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee at (615) 329-3491.

Bette’s CSFP Story: “They saved my life”

Bette White was enrolled in CSFP through Second Harvest and spent months building a trusted relationship with Jess, a Federal Program Client Liaison with Second Harvest, who delivered her box each month. When Bette didn’t answer her door one day, Jess became a true life-saver. Bette had fallen three days prior and had been unable to move or call for help.

“I did everything possible to lift myself up, and I couldn’t for three days. Then, I heard this beautiful voice – Jess from Second Harvest,” says Bette. “They saved my life.”
