On the first day of school, children facing hunger have already fallen behind their classmates. They will have more difficulty concentrating in class, be sick more often, and be less likely to excel academically.
Last year, 24 local schools participated and students donated more than 185,000 pounds. We hope to have an even bigger impact this year!
Thank you to News 2 WKRN-TV for its support of food drives that have benefited Second Harvest for over 40 years and its continued dedication through News 2 Food 2 Families!
If you know of a school or want to encourage your child's school to participate, please register the school here or email Jack Stell.
