It’s that time of year again! Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee & WKRN News 2 are teaming up for the annual Food 2 Families school food drive. Elementary, Middle, and High Schools are encouraged to participate in the food drive running through the end of October.
Download the informational packet here.
Food 2 Families is not only an opportunity for our local schools to help fight hunger in Middle Tennessee, but also an opportunity to show school children that they too can make a difference in service of their community.
On the first day of school, children experiencing hunger will have already fallen behind their classmates. They will have more difficulty concentrating in class, be sick more often during the school year, and be less likely to excel academically. Make sure your school is joining in the fight against hunger so that every child can start the school year off right. Last year, over 70 local schools participated and students donated more than 300,000 items–we hope to make this year even bigger!
Thank you to our sponsor WKRN for their support of the Food 2 Families food drive. If you know of a school or want to encourage your child’s school to participate, please register your school here or email Courtney Blaise at email@example.com.
When your drive is complete, please submit the 2017 Food 2 Families Box Pick Up form to schedule a pick up.
