Generous Helpings Raises a Record-Breaking 631,000 Meals for Hungry Middle Tennesseans

Generous Helpings presented by Kroger and its sister event Chefs’ Dinner raised over $157,000, beating last year’s total by $30,000 and making it the highest-grossing year for the event to date!

Restaurants from across Nashville joined us at City Winery for a tasting showcase of some of the city’s best food.

Featured restaurants included local favorites like Hattie B’s, Tànsuŏ, Biscuit Love, and many more.

There was steep competition for this year’s People’s Choice Award, but after the tokens were tallied, Char took the title with a delicious dish of beef tenderloin and mashed potatoes.

It was a night of beautiful bites and sensational sips, but it was all in an effort to fight hunger in Middle Tennessee by raising funds for our grocery rescue program.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE’S TABLE

All proceeds from Generous Helpings go toward our grocery rescue program, Middle Tennessee’s Table.

This program rescues frozen meat, produce, dairy, and other non-perishable food from over 230 grocery stores.

Instead of going to waste, this food is rescued, sorted at our one of our three distribution centers, and then redistributed back out into the community to feed families, children, and seniors struggling with hunger.

The funds raised through Generous Helpings this year will be enough to provide about 631,000 meals to our hungry neighbors!

#ZEROHUNGERZEROWASTE

Kroger, Generous Helpings’ presenting sponsor, is dedicated to Zero Hunger, Zero Waste.

Their #ZeroHungerZeroWaste initiative aims to end hunger in the communities they call home and eliminate waste in the company by 2025.

Not only is Kroger a longtime supporter and grocery rescue partner, but they also inspired us to make Generous Helpings a zero food waste event this year.

All left over food from Generous Helpings was brought to our Partner Agency, the Nashville Rescue Mission.

We’d also like to thank our Blue Ribbon Sponsors: CMT and Sysco, as well as our Five Star Sponsors: Ajax Turner Co. Inc., Carvana, Dell, Lipman Brothers & R.S. Lipman Company, and Oracle + Netsuite for supporting Generous Helpings and Middle Tennessee’s Table.

Whether you were a sponsor who donated your resources, a chef who showcased your talents, or a guest who spent your evening with us, thank you for making this the most successful Generous Helpings yet. We hope to see you again next year!
