Kroger Donates More Than 3 Tractor-Trailer Loads of Food

Today, our warehouse was busy and food bank employees worked hard to empty 3 tractor-trailer loads of food that Kroger donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee!

The food donation came from a fundraising campaign that took place during the holiday season. Kroger invited customers and associates to make a donation to the food bank during checkout. Kroger customers donated nearly $76,000 which was then turned in to some of our most-needed food items like peanut butter, canned tuna, canned fruits and pasta.

Additionally, Kroger presented a check today for $67,500 as part of their annual commitment to help end hunger.

“Kroger is pleased to be able to give back to food banks in the communities we serve,” said Melissa Eads, marketing and public relations manager for the Nashville division of Kroger. “We are grateful for the generous giving of our customers and associates, and proud to partner with Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee in their efforts to fight hunger.”
