Shooting Hunger Aims High and Hits 180,000 Meals

September’s Nashville Shooting Hunger Sporting Clays Fun Shoot raised the equivalent of 180,000 meals for hungry families in Middle Tennessee!

Shooting Hunger Wrap Up - 1

Shooting Hunger was created in 2015 through the combined efforts of Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, the Tennessee Farm Bureau Family, and Farm Credit Mid-America. The one day fun shoot is a way for Tennessee’s agricultural community to come together and have a good time for a good cause.

“The work Second Harvest does for those in Middle Tennessee is a perfect fit for our mission,” Tim Williams, Senior Vice President Ag Lending at Farm Credit Mid-America said. “Our purpose is to secure the future of Ameica’s rural communities and agriculture. Why not use the people who feed the world to help those in need?”

It’s safe to say that the agricultural community has more than helped those in need. After three years, Shooting Hunger has provided 630,000 meals to food-insecure families across Middle Tennessee, and we’re looking forward to seeing that number grow in the years to come!
