For 32 years, Kroger has been a steadfast partner in creating a community where everyone can thrive, contributing over $3 million in donations and rescuing more than 21.5 million pounds of food. Their generosity and commitment have profoundly impacted the lives of thousands of Tennesseans.

This year, during our Power of One campaign, we’re reminded of the immense power of collaboration. When we each take just one action—whether it’s donating, volunteering, or spreading awareness—we create a ripple effect that helps us move closer to a hunger-free Tennessee. Kroger’s contributions embody the essence of this campaign, demonstrating how one organization’s dedication can multiply into meaningful change.

A Spotlight on Mobile Pantry Support

One of the standout moments in our partnership came in 2021 when the Kroger Zero Hunger Zero Waste Foundation donated $100,000 to fund 30 Rural Mobile Pantries across 24 high-need communities in Middle and West Tennessee. These mobile pantries distributed over 801,252 pounds of fresh fruits, vegetables, and pantry staples, serving more than 17,000 individuals and nearly 5,900 households. This initiative is just one example of how Kroger’s support reaches those who need it most, ensuring that even the most rural and underserved areas have access to nutritious food.
