The Darden Foundation Donates $24,000 to Fight Hunger

The Darden FoundationWe recently received a generous gift of $24,000 from The Darden Foundation to support our hunger fighting efforts in Middle and West Tennessee.

The Darden Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Darden Restaurants, the group behind Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse. For the past six years, the foundation has worked with Feeding America and its network of food banks to support families facing food insecurity across the country.

“One in eight people struggle with hunger in Middle Tennessee, including one in five children,” Jaynee Day, our president and CEO said.

“Hunger does not discriminate and there are many children, families, and seniors who turn to our food bank for help. The Darden Foundation’s donation will go a long way for the people in our community.”

This grant will allow us to bring food to our neighbors who need it most and will support feeding programs like Middle Tennessee’s Table, our grocery rescue program.

Thank you to the Darden Foundation for helping us fight hunger in Middle Tennessee!
