How is Lifepoint fighting Hunger with Second Harvest?

Lifepoint Health: More Than A Decade of Partnership in the Fight Against Hunger

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is proud to recognize and celebrate our long-standing partnership with Lifepoint Health. Since 2009, Lifepoint has been an invaluable advocate for a healthier community. Their contributions over the years, totaling $1.2 million, have had a transformative impact, helping us reach thousands of individuals and families across Middle and West Tennessee.

A Strategic Partner in Health and Hunger Relief

For the past eight years, Lifepoint has honored Second Harvest as a Strategic Partner, a distinction that reflects their deep commitment to creating healthier communities. Lifepoint has chosen to stand with us in the fight against hunger, and their support has been extraordinary.

From 2020 to 2023, Lifepoint funded 32 Mobile Pantries, distributing over 737,000 pounds of food to more than 23,000 people. These Mobile Pantries, reaching 8,005 households, have been a lifeline for families in need, ensuring that they have access to nutritious food during challenging times.

Enhancing Nutrition and Community Wellness

Lifepoint’s commitment goes beyond just providing food. Lifepoint has played a crucial role in promoting health and wellness in our community. By funding the purchase of over 3 million pounds of fresh produce, Lifepoint has ensured our neighbors have access to healthy and nutritious food. Their support has also extended to specific health-related initiatives, including the distribution of diabetic-friendly tray packs and Chronic Disease Boxes, addressing the unique needs of those with chronic health conditions.

Beyond Donations: Volunteering and In-Kind Support

Lifepoint’s impact is felt not just through financial contributions but also through the hands-on efforts of their employees. With 421 employees volunteering 2,118 hours, Lifepoint has shown that their commitment to fighting hunger is personal and profound.

Their generosity also extends to essential infrastructure improvements, including the funding of critical equipment like refrigerated trailers and forklifts, which ensure that we can efficiently and safely distribute food to those who need it most.

Thank You, Lifepoint Health

As we continue our fight against hunger, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Lifepoint Health for their decade-long partnership. Their contributions have not only provided much-needed food and resources but have also helped us build a stronger, healthier community.

Together, we are making a lasting impact. Thank you, Lifepoint, for being a true partner in this journey.
